Black Box Diaries is a 2024 documentary film produced and directed by Shiori Itō, which chronicles her sexual assault investigation and case in Japan.[3] The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.[3][4][5] MTV Documentary Films released it in the United States, while Dogwoof released it in the United Kingdom on October 25, 2024. It was received with great accolades and appeared in the top 5 documentaries of 2024, as listed by the National Board of Review[6] and as a nominee in the Best Documentary Feature Film of the 97th Academy Awards.
